Civics is a study of rights and duties of citizens. As owners of a democratic country, it is absolutely crucial for us to have a clear knowledge of civics, for the sake of individuals and country as a whole.
Because our school is an international school, we do not have much opportunity to learn about Korean civics despite a majority of our student body being comprised of Korean population. Therefore, I decided to hold Korean Civics Forum, in which we will cover rudimentary concepts taught in Korean schools to educate the Korean citizens.
As students of an international school, we have experienced a rich diversity in the international communities and many of us have passion to study abroad. Before being sent out to the world, knowing about our country and ourselves is absolutely important. Thus, this forum will not only benefit those who are planning to stay in Korean but also those who are planning to study in other countries.
For such significance, please note that it is mandatory for juniors and seniors and optional for freshmen and sophomores to attend the forum. The forum will be held in Korean, so those who do not understand Korean are excused from the meeting yet have to send me an email so I can guide you in English individually. With that being said, see you next Monday. Let’s learn how to make and be involved in a better world!
