The girls entered the tournament with a lot of momentum, coming off two big wins over Kent and ICS-U. It was clear that they had one thing in mind, and that was taking home the championship once again. The practices leading up to the tournament were our best practices of the year. The girls worked extra hard and fine tuned their skills. After waking up early and making a long drive to Pyongtaek, a little rust would have been understandable, but the girls came out firing on all cylinders. Our serving and offense were the major factors, as the girls combined for 13 aces and 27 kills. Captains Youjung and Youkyung kwon led the way with 37 good serves combined. The girls won the game in 3 straight sets (25:18, 25:13, 25:14) meaning their next game would be the finals. They spent the next 4 and a half hours refueling and resting their bodies, as they mentally prepared to face Dwight in the finals once again. When that time came, the girls were ready. In all 3 sets, the girls fell behind quickly due to tough serves, but they were always able to battle back. Serving and our unstoppable offense were once again the difference makers, as the girls served 68 good serves and only missed 6. Christine Chun and Alicia Lee both served 12 good serves each and combined for 3 aces. Sisters Youjung and Youkyung finished off their CDS volleyball careers in perfect form, as Dwight could not figure out an answer for them. Youjung was digging the ball left, right and center and Youkyung was able to get to every single one and put up a perfect set to either her sister or one of our other very capable hitters. CDS ended up winning the finals in 3 straight sets once again (25:23, 25:22, 25:21) to claim the KAIAK White Division championship for the second straight year.
