No Problem Word Problem! Students have successfully completed Quadratic Function unit and now it’s time
for them to apply mathematical knowledge to their everyday life-knowledge by solving word problems. During
the activity, students were fully engaged and actively sharing ideas with peers. Students are working very
closely with their teammates to define and analyze the problem, generate possible solutions based on their
mathematical reasoning, and revisit the question for their final conclusion.
Students have learned nouns, adjectives and the first verb SER:to be and formed their first sentences. Third class of the week, they practiced all they learned using the program Kahoot in a more relaxed yet competitive way. Beginning of next week, students of Spanish 1 class will be taking a quiz.
This week, students started working on editorials! In this activity, students were engaged in a scavenger hunt with the New York Times. In doing so, they examined the various sections of the paper and explored what fact vs. opinion, and the changing role of the media in today's Internet age. As you can see, they also decided to pose a bit! =)
This week the 12th grade music class worked on their “Just Play” projects. This project is all about collaborating with your fellow classmates to make creative original music using a slew of different instruments. Also, last week all sixty six members of the CDS choir met all together for the first time and sang beautifully as one harmonious sound.
