Moments to go in the first half, Taeho Kim was taken down in the box for a penalty. With poise, Bumjoon Kim, making his season debut at center midfield, buried the ball into the bottom left corner of the net to tie it up 1-1. With this goal, Bumjoon now has the 3rd most points (goals & assists) in Dalton history.
In the second, the midfield tightened up and began winning the 50/50 balls. The all senior backline played another strong game shutting down and frustrating the Dwight attackers. 8th grader Jungmin Kim, making his first varsity start, played a phenomenal game lacing through balls and even scoring the go ahead goal on a laced strike from 20 yards out. Unfortunately, the goal was called back for a questionable off the ball foul.
Sophomore Ryan Park and Senior Jung Hwang both played gallantly in their Dalton debuts.
The game would end in a 1-1 tie. While we dominated the play, we simply could not close out the game. We are looking forward to another shot at Dwight midway through April. Your Dalton Pheonix now sit 1-1-0 with a few weeks to recover and return faster, stronger and more determined when spring break comes to a close.
