In order to better appraise how well we doing this we have last week conducted a survey to check how often our students are using the skills identified as being "21st Century". You can see the results of these surveys by following the link below. Its safe to say we are doing better than most schools but there is always room for improvement and looking at how we can do this better while allowing more time for personal inquiry will be the focus of our next teacher in service day.
As a parent I hope the survey exposes a bit of what goes on at CDS and why it does. I've included some photos of an Algebra II class where students were presenting the results of experiments they had done into the best font to use to memorise vocabulary. This project challenged them to gather, analyse and interpret data while also hopefully helping them improve their study tactics.
