Having survived the initial scare CDS concentrated on attack and put together several good passing combinations before they got the breakthrough when Hyunji latched onto a defensive mistake and fired home the first goal of the season. Spirited defensive work by Remy in midfield was the key to CDS holding onto the lead until halftime.
The second half started with a period of intense pressure from Kent but committed defending and a couple of fine stops by Sarah meant that CDS weathered the early pressure. As the half wore on CDS were rarely in trouble as the pace of Hyunji and Sarah Lee on the wings combined with the attacking drive provided by Elizabeth Yu meant Kent were forced back into their own half.
The game finished with CDS looking like the only team likely to increase the score. A great effort by all involved and means CDS go into this weekend’s game with ICU full of confidence.
